Terms of use
Upright is free, open-source software. Using it is governed by the MIT License, summarized below.
License
Upright is released under the MIT License, copyright © 2026 Upright contributors. You may use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense and sell copies of it, as long as the copyright notice and the license text are included with all copies or substantial portions of the software.
No warranty
The software is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. In no event are the authors or copyright holders liable for any claim, damages or other liability arising from the software or its use. The license text is the authoritative version.
Hardware support
The MX Vertical is the only mouse verified on real hardware. Other models are built from published device data and tested against Upright's mouse simulator, so they're expected to work but aren't verified. Upright only diverts buttons while it runs and writes nothing permanent to a mouse: quit it, or switch the mouse off and on, and its buttons return to factory behavior.
Unsigned builds
Release builds are ad-hoc signed and not notarized by Apple, so macOS asks you to confirm the first launch. Download Upright only from its GitHub releases, or build it yourself from the source.
Trademarks
Logitech, MX, Unifying, Bolt and Logi Options+ are trademarks of Logitech. Upright is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Logitech. Apple, Mac and macOS are trademarks of Apple Inc.
Changes
If these terms change, the new version is published here and the history is in the repository. See also the privacy policy and the security policy.
